My name is Abi and I am the proud owner of Welsh Luxury Hamper Company. A Luxury Hamper Company that includes Elite Branded Products from all areas of Wales representing its beautiful heritage and landscape. I supply hampers to a wide range of individual customers and the corporate and promotional giftware market. Welsh Luxury Hamper Company operates online via an e-commerce website, enabling my customers to choose from a wide range of hampers. My hampers differ from current competitors on the market as I offer hampers in a handcrafted keep-sake box as opposed to a traditional wicker hamper.

I offer products such as: welsh baby wool, slate, handcrafted love spoons and traditional Welsh Hand Lotion. This is where I differ, as hampers are predominately food and drink based. My hampers are aimed at everyone with a price range from £40 to £150. We can tailor hampers for corporate enquiries to meet needs.

Why do you want to run your own business?

I have wanted my own business from a very young age, its always been my dream to do something I love. I am a firm believer that if you do something you love you will never have to work a day in your life. I would like to be in a good financial situation and feel that I can achieve this if I work hard and reach out to my target audience.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mark Drakeford – The First Minister of Wales to talk all things Welsh Luxury Hamper Company and my struggles in launching this business and combating dyslexia. Personally, I like a challenge, I feel that being my own boss I can set goals and achieve. A business is a great way to challenge my goals and is filled with opportunities every day. I'm of a self-motivated character. I find motivation from my own tasks, not those prescribed to me by others.

At the moment I am looking for premises as I need more room for stock and I will be taking on my first member of staff soon. At this point I am also considering changing from a sole trader to a Limited Company.
